About Package
Maine has the largest bear population east of the Mississippi. There's an estimated 30,000-35,000 black bears in the state of Maine! We start baiting our sites 1 month prior to the start of hunting season. We use trail cameras at all of our sites so we can keep track of the bears that are coming in. Here at Family Tradition Guide Service, we want to see more youths in the field and have the experience that most hunters don't get a chance to have. This hunt is similar to the semi-guided bear hunt, and will include 6 days of trapping. You'll set up the snare Sunday afternoon and check it daily until Saturday morning. With this hunt, on Sunday only the guide will transport the trapper to the bait site, provide the trapper with some pointers and suggestions and show him the bait location. The guide will continue to bait the site and keep it active. The hunter will be responsible for their meals, lodging, transportation and game retrieval.
